So you're interested in being apart of the Virtual Concert Band!?

Welcome!! :)

I hope you are as excited as I am to be the first to participate in the First Virtual Concert Band. It will consist of muscians (LIKE YOU!) to submit a video of themselves playing their respective part(s) on their instrument.

The Piece we are going to put together is Gustav Holst's First Suite in E-flat. It is one of the most famous wind band peices in in the world, and what better peice to start this project off with.

I guess you are wondering HOW DO I GET STARTED?!?

WELL!! here is how i'd like you to do it. :) (READ ALL THE RULES PLEASE!!)

1. You will go to...

then click COMPLETE PARTS, then AGREE TO TERMS OF USE, then print off your respective part. :) (unless you already have the part from your school etc.)

2. You will record yourself with your Video/Digital Camera or Webcam (whatever has better quality) playing to THESE recordings (with earphones of course). This is really important because we want everyone to be in sync when the parts are all put together. EACH PART MUST BE RECORDED SEPARATELY! (3 videos in total)







INSTRUMENTATION!!


3. You will then post your videos to youtube with the title: VCB: First Suite in E-flat (Chaconne) - Clarinet 2 (this is just an example, you get the idea.)

4. After you post your videos you will send me a Private Message on youtube saying that your video has been uploaded. :)

5. If you are interested in playing a solo, you must submit 1 video with you playing all solo lines, and 1 video with NO solo playing. (6 videos in total!) -> 2 of each. and in the title of your video you must put the word SOLO in brackets.

6. Don't be scared MISTAKES HAPPEN! if it is not flawless, or you play one wrong note that is alright. :) this is a learning and unique experience for EVERYONE!

7. You can play more than one instrument?! THAT'S GREAT :) the more variety the better (epesically for piccolo and e-flat clarinet!).

8. TUNING! make sure that you are in tune with the videos provided. :)
